StayUp.News editor-in-chief Roberto E. Alejandro recently sat down for a phone conversation with Coolzey, the artist behind the new album Coolzey and the God Damned Friend Killers, which comes out in digital format on February 23 via Coolzey’s Public School Records. CDs will be available beginning March 30, with album artwork by collage artist Detrell Smith.
In our conversation, Coolzey touches on how the various genres weaved into the project are a reflection of people’s varied facets, and how the truth claims hurled about in our society can turn into forms of censorship that harm artistic expression.
