StayUp.News editor-in-chief Roberto E. Alejandro recently sat down for a phone conversation with Prof (above in a courtesy photo), the Minneapolis emcee-singer whose new album Pookie Baby will be released on April 13th, via Rhymesayers Entertainment. In our discussion, Prof describes growing up in a pre-gentrification Southside Minneapolis, and how that helped shape him as a person and artist. Prof also touches on the importance of quality, publicly funded arts education for inner city youth, and how that was the difference between becoming a successful artist or possibly ending up a statistic.
